Objectives
The Crickhowell Resource & Information Centre (CRiC) is a voluntary community group, a non-profit distributing charity (registered charity no:1106479) and a company limited by guarantee (reg. No 4668297).
CRiC provides a range of services and facilities to visitors and the local community including maps and tourist publications, wi-fi and computer access, meeting and conference rooms for hire, training, office services, photocopying and various other office related services and a gallery showcasing the art and craft work of a range of local artists.
The objectives of the charity are:
to advance the education of the public by offering training in all matters relating to Information Technology
1. for the benefit or furtherance of charitable purposes by offering access to Information Technology and general support in furthering the objects of such charitable groups
2. the promotion for the public benefit of urban or rural regeneration in areas of social and economic deprivation and in particular Crickhowell, Llangattock, Glangwryney, Cwmdu & Tretower, Llangynidr by all or any of the following means:
- the relief of unemployment in such ways as may be thought fit, including assistance to find employment,
- the advancement of education, training or re-training particularly among unemployed people and providing unemployed people with work experience,
- the provision of assistance in order to provide training and employment opportunities for unemployed people in cases of financial or other charitable need through help:
- in setting up their own business, or
- to existing businesses
CRiC is located in Beaufort Street, Crickhowell and is open daily 10am - 5pm
The centre, built with European funding under Objective 2 provides a one stop-information and resource centre to serve Crickhowell and the surrounding communities as well visitors to the area.
