The Dragon Gateway Festival gets underway again on Friday 29 June 2007 in the pretty market town of Crickhowell, which nestles on the edge of the Black Mountains of South East Wales.
Saturday's events include a procession, spectacle and open air theatre.
Organisers Arts Alive, a small dynamic arts organisation based in the town, work with schools and community groups to create a colourful and visually exciting procession. Events, including the procession, will be led by the Crickhowell Dragon, a 20ft long street puppet in vividly coloured silks which hatched at last year's event. A specially commissioned open air theatre piece will be the centrepiece of the Festival Day.
The festival celebrates Wales' rich cultural heritage as well as focusing on the dragon in cultures across the globe. Street Dragons are invited to meet up at 10.30am on Saturday 30 June and join in the festivities.
